Viavoice Problems

after using IBM's ViaVoice (dictation software) on my g4 desktop, I am
now trying to use it on a new g4 powerbook. The problem I'm having is
that the micriphone (provided with the software) isn't beeing
recognized by the "set up wizard".

Any ideas of how to solve this problem?

I'm wondering if you may have been bit by the same problem that I had...

When I purchased ViaVoice, I got the package without the microphone so
I had to purchase one. I went to their web site and found the list of
recommended mics. I purchased the top-of-the-line model from
Plantronics, the DSP-500. I got the model that was advertised to work
with the mac -- said so right on the packaging.

However, my mac refused to recognize it.

I worked with the support folks at Plantronics. Turns out their
factory had accidentally packaged a bunch of models incorrectly! They
were very anxious to work this problem out because they had to contact
all of their vendors that were carrying this model and get the items
recalled and repackaged.

I'm wondering if they inadvertently put an incorrect model in with your
ViaVoice software?

You didn't mention which model of microphone was included with your
software; however, if it is one made by Plantronics, you may wish to
