Video formats
Is there any way to use .WMV files as the video in Director?
My issue is file size becasue I have a five minute movies that needs to go on a business card CD and the quicktime is just not coming down enough in file size.
Any suggestions on either of the above sentences would be greatly appreciated by myself and my insurance company, as they will be able to stop paying my therapy bills ...

Re: Video formats
Hi Max,
You can import a WMV file via a third-party Xtra like the Mpeg Advance Xtra
from Tabuleiro (http://xtras.tabuleiro.com). Another way is via the Windows
Media Player ActiveX control - this only works on Windows.

Video formats
If anyone knows about video formats and windows can they give me some
advice.
I have for years battled to convince clients that installing Quicktime is
the best option for top quality video in director. The problem is that alot
of those clients don't want to have to install anything. I have used mpegs
with xtras and now have the option of flash swf video files linked to
director which is probably the best allround option at the moment.
For those technophobic clients out there (or those that aren't given
installation rights) I need to know the compatibilty of avi's and mpgs with
different versions of windows media player and windows for;
windows 98
windows 2000
windows 2000 server
windows XP
Is there anyone who knows everything about video formats or is there a
website which will tell me which codecs are compatible with the various
versions of media player and windows.
thanks
