    Default View % question

Hi, I am an InDesign student.

When I view the document at 100%, it is hard to tell what point size that font will actually print. The monitor seems to display a slight reduction if you were to hold a real ruler up to it. When selecting body text, it is critical to know what text point size can be read and how it will be printed.

Does anyone know what View % to set my document so that I can get a TRUE reading on my monitor?

    Thank you in advance.

That depends entirely on the pixel density (resolution) of your monitor.
Why don't you just e.g. draw a square of 200/200 mm and alter the zoom
factor in little steps until it displays at life size?

I don't think you should judge type by looking at a monitor though.
Although the quality of modern TFTs can be very good, it can't compete
with a sharp proof from a laser printer, especially when it comes to
    smaller point sizes.

On my monitor, 143% is closest to actual size.
