Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint - Microsoft SQL / MS SQL Server

The error that you are getting is not related to referential integrity constraint , rather it is related to the violation of "PRIMARY KEY" constraint. Default Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint

You might have a trigger on the table - which is trying
to insert into another table. That's what might be
    causing the duplicate error.
