virtual environment - Macromedia Director 3D

i am getting really stuck and need HELP!!! i have created a virtual environment in 3d studio max and i have to take it into director and add controls for movement and interactivity and have no clue on how to do it. once i have opened the file in director how can i add a first person view, arrow controls for movement and collision detection to the environemnt? i also need to link two environments together. so when a certain point is reached on one, a message comes up to load the next environment and a link to take them ...

i am getting really stuck and need HELP!!!

i have created a virtual environment in 3d studio max and i have to take it
into director and add controls for movement and interactivity and have no clue
    on how to do it.

once i have opened the file in director how can i add a first person view,
arrow controls for movement and collision detection to the environemnt?

i also need to link two environments together. so when a certain point is
reached on one, a message comes up to load the next environment and a link to
take them to the next. how could i do that?

    Hi Tesh,

I have tutorials on 3D at:
    http://www.fbe.unsw.edu.au/learning/director/#3d
Here's one on character control (using the arrow keys)
    http://www.fbe.unsw.edu.au/learning/director/3D/environment/CharacterMove.asp

Have a sequence of tutorials on 3D which include collsion detection. The one at:
    http://www.fbe.unsw.edu.au/learning/director/3D/environment/characterAnim.asp
shows how when you collide into something, you can activate some code. So, you
could make it that when you move into a particu;ar area or go through a door, you
jump to a difefrent part of teh movie.

    Hope they help.

I have a bunch of modelsUnderRay stuff which should help with the collision
    side of things, here:

    General tips and advice:

    http://www.robotduck.com/content/articles/director/collision/modelsUnderRay/mode
    lsUnderRay.txt

    Optimising Models Under Ray calls:

    http://www.robotduck.com/content/articles/director/collision/modelsUnderRay/opti
    misingModelsUnderRay.txt

Wall collision demo, using 2 rays in a V formation:

    http://www.robotduck.com/content/articles/director/collision/modelsUnderRay/wall
    Collision_V-Ray.htm

Same demo, with 'visible beams' for clarification

    http://www.robotduck.com/content/articles/director/collision/modelsUnderRay/wall
    Collision_V-Ray_visibleBeams.htm

    Same, with FPS camera view

    http://www.robotduck.com/content/articles/director/collision/modelsUnderRay/wall
    Collision_V-Ray-FPS.htm

One method of optimising, by casting rays at irregular intervals:

    http://www.robotduck.com/content/articles/director/collision/modelsUnderRay/wall
    Collision_optimised_visibleBeams.htm

Ground height detection using models under ray

    http://www.robotduck.com/content/articles/director/collision/modelsUnderRay/grou
    ndCollision.htm

Ground alignment using models under ray

    http://www.robotduck.com/content/articles/director/collision/modelsUnderRay/grou
    ndCollisionAndAlign.htm

Smooth interpolation of ground alignment using modelsUnderRay

    http://www.robotduck.com/content/articles/director/collision/modelsUnderRay/grou
    ndCollisionAndAlignInterpolated.htm

    hope this helps!
