Default Vista shockwave issue?

I've been unable to install and run shockwave on 2 vista machines. Both display
the same error as follows:

?Unable to open file
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/dir.dcr because it is
already open with write permission by another user.?

The same type of error occurs for me at the following location:

http://knowledge.elementk.com/ek_content/cp30/global/banner.dcr

All the tips I've found so far seem to imply a change to the file settings on
the server! This has only happened to me on Vista.

Any clues?

Default Re: Vista shockwave issue?

As regards the error for url
http://knowledge.elementk.com/ek_content/cp30/global/banner.dcr, I have managed
to resolve the issue by adding https://knowledge.elementk.com to my list of
trusted sites in internet explorer.

I had previously uninstalled flash and shockwave, and then installed shockwave
using the standalone installer, then installed flash using adobe's online
activex installation procedure.
