    Default w3d models

how do you import w3d models into director. do you use lingo - if so has any one got a demo on this. I've got the object converter and have converted models but I don't know how to get the model into the world.

just **import** the w3d file like any other castmember.
from the cast drag your w3d file into the stage. thats it!

i dont know if you need to download a xtra so it reckonises a w3d file -
take a look on the macromedia site it will tell you there.

    hope that helps

i just use the import function. this does fine;-)

do you want to import a w3d file into director or do you want to import a
model from a w3d file into an existing w3d stage member?

Use the "Load models into the scene" in the Chrome Lib set of 3D behaviors:

    thanks to everyone,

its amazing what a mistake I made. I thought a 3d model w3d file was a seperate file. I was then creating a blank 3d world and then trying to import a second 3d world into it.

and for my second question - how dumb was that!!!

funny thing is you can do that, using the load file command.
