wanting an extra 0.5 inch margin when printing
Acrobat prints great to the printer. and i just found that there is a
checkbox that let's you select "print as image"... when it is not
checked, the text comes out more crisp from the printer.
there is one thing that seems not easy to adjust though. when we get a
PDF document, sometimes even paying $4.95 to purchase one from the
magazines, we can't print the article with an extra 0.5 inch at the
left margin.
the page is all fine, except the text is close to the very left side of
the page. then the page prints out and you can't really punch the 3
holes on the left to put in the 3-ring binder. Part of the text may be
"punched out"... and sometimes you have to guess what words they are.
so is there a way to simply tell acrobat to add an extra 0.5 inch left
margin to it?
(i tried faking it and printing it out as "executive paper" 7.2 inch x
11 inch. and ask acrobat to "fit page to paper" and reverse 180
degree. There is the big margin alright... but it is a whole 1.3 inch
narrower page, and the text is rather small.)

microscope at home. when i look at the "print as image" print out, the
black text actually has different color of toner on it, such as magenta
cyan. when the box is not checked, the black text is only of black
carbon particles. it is funny too i can actually see the carbon powder
splashing all around the text edges...
