WBEM/SMC will not start.
Hi All,
Having a problem here on a Blade 2000, running Solaris 9 and latest
recommended patch cluster. I can't seem to get the Management console
(/usr/sbin/smc) to work properly.
I've done some previous googling on this, and have made sure that I
have run /etc/init.d/init.wbem start - when I run this with the
"status" option, it reports that :-
Sun Management Console server version 2.1.0 running on port 898.
netstat also reports that something is listening on port 898. I then
run "smc", and get the console appearing. I then log in as root, but
whenever I click on something - like System information, processes
etc. I get an error message appearing informing me that a WBEM server
is not running, and that I should try starting it and re-run console
again.
Having made sure that WBEM is in fact running, I have tried stopping
and starting the service, rebooting the machine, logging in as
different users/root - what else should I be looking at ?
Any advice much appreciated,
Thanks in advance,
-Mark
