Web based review
Acrobat 7 CS2 G5 dual OSX10.3.9
Can we post onto our website a pdf review of a magazine we produce. What is 'webdav'? Can we ftp it and then link it in emails. Sorry to sound so dopey. We're not quite sure how to do this. It all looks very exciting in CS2 and Acrobat 7 and we want to try this out!
Thanks for your help

Re: Web based review
Carlo,
I'm very unclear from your message about what you're trying to do.
To learn how to set up an email-based review or a browser-based review, go to Acrobat's Help menu and select Complete Acrobat Help. Then scroll down on the Contents tab to the REVIEW AND MARKUP section. In particular the subsection on Initiating Document Reviews. Read through that section and see if it matches what you're trying to do.
If you have further questions, you can post them here.

Re: Web based review
By the way, WebDAV is a way of making it possible to write, as well as
read, files on a web site. It must be set up by an administrator, as
there are of course serious security implications with this. It is
set up on the web server itself. Once set up, you can use it with
Acrobat. So the review truly is "web based". No FTP, no mail.

Re: Web based review
Thanks guys, I presumed that there was a security issue. I want to set up a web based PDF review on a remote server, the one we use to host our website. This is easier(?) than doing a email based review Ð the files are very large.

Re: Web based review
You can use Version Cue CS2 to do this. Since you have the Adobe Creative Suite 2, open up Help from any application. In the Help Center, choose Adobe Creative Suite, and select the topics on Version Cue. Look for the section on setting up a PDF review.

Re: Web based review
Thanks Steve,
What I've been meaning to say is can I make browser based reviews across the internet. What sort of person do I need to speak to. We are a small company without a network administrator.

Re: Web based review
I just experimented with a Version Cue CS2 PDF review last night, and while the interface has some rough edges, it seems to work fine.
Since this is a new feature, there really aren't any people to talk to except for the folks who visit these forums. You'll get the most expert help in the Version Cue section of the Adobe Creative Suite forum where VC engineers and the product manager can answer questions.
