Ask a Question related to Macromedia Exchange Dreamweaver Extensions, Design and Development.

    Default webassit.com

On the 19th September I purchased an extension from Webassist.com for Total
Charged: $74.99, I also upgraded to DW8 through Macromedia, it was not
hightlighted on Webassist.com website that most of there extensions are not
    compatable with DW8.
On loading the extension on MX 2004 all was ok, but then I desided to load
DW8, This is when I found that the extension I purchased from webassist was
    not compatable.
This morning 22nd September I receive a promotion email from webassist
stating that discounts apply to there extensions from today, that been the
extension I purchased is now $56.24* rather then the $74.99 I paid.
I dropped Webassist.com an email stating that the extension I purchased
from them the other day does not work on DW8 and that I cannot use it. I had
requested they give me it at the discount price due to me not being able to
use it until they update it . The reply I received is below.

Thanks for your inquiry. WebAssist is planning a free upgrade for all our
products to support DW8 on 10/4/2005 - you will receive an email when the
updates are ready. As for the promotion - we are not providing
credit/refunds for customers that purchased prior to the 25% discount offer.

I have been a very good customer to webassist.com in the pasts I have nearly
every extension they have created bar one or two. I do feel it is rather
unfair that they treat a customer in this way.

just thought I would voice my experience

    regards

    Kenny

You missed a few news groups. You might want to go back and get them as
    well.

Seriously... one post would have been enough.

Seriously, lol just because you use a few forums doesn't mean others do, I
feel I have not been treated well as a customer, we are all entitled to
    voice our opinions,

    ok Roloc,
maybe you would have paid good money for something only to find that it did
not work as and how you expected it to, maybe you would then have just
walked away and buried your head in the sand, but then we are all different
aren't we. I paid money for something that I was led to believe would work,
webassist should have made it more clear that it wouldn't work until a
future date, they have my money if they really needed it I would prefer that
they asked me for a loan rather then been mis-sold something.

    regards

    Kenny

Nope, I'd fight it too. But I wouldn't go around like a spoiled child
    defaming them at every opportunity.

    To each his/her own.

Roloc I dont know what you mean " I wouldn't go around like a spoiled child
defaming" , I am not defaming them, they went out of there way to defame
themselves ,I have never been spoilt, I work hard for my money, they took
    it,

what would you have done and what would you have expected on doing it.

    regards

    Kenny

Kenny? Please don't take this the wrong way, but I'm sure what he's
referring to is that you posted on several boards about it .. while your
situation is unfortunate, your argument is with Web Assist and not
Macromedia, so the most direct way to solve this would be directly with Web
    Assist.

I know you already contacted them and got the canned answer .. how about
going back to them via email and letting them know that they have wronged
you and their explanation is not sufficient? Just a suggestion.
