We are using webdav with contribute because we don't want to create system
accounts to access the webserver. We are using SunOne Webserver 6.1 with an
LDAP authentication server to restrict on the server who can access the system
via webdav. The problem is that given several users each with their own unique
webdav account that once they edit a file with contribute and send it on to be
reviewed by our web services person who has his own webdav account he can not
open it or "check it back in" to the server. I (being the system admin) have
to first go in and remove the locks on the files before he can then check it
back in. The only way arround this that I can think of is that EVERYONE would
have to use the same webdav account to access the server - thus leaving no
accountability as to who did what and leaves me no way to block the user once
they leave the organization. Is this really what Macromedia had in mind? A
single webdav account? If so what a pain for a large site administrator to have
to deal with.

Is there anyone else who has run into this problem?
