webpages and Access - ASP Database

Hello, I am a newbie with Access and have been reading the Access Indide Out from MS and have learned quite a bit. But Where can I learn how to make an Access DB work with an online web page such as a search page for product on my site? I also have a few asp password protected pages but how can I add an Access DB to these pages so the Password will be different for each customer? Or should I be using another form of database? Thanks Joe...

    Default webpages and Access

    Hello,

I am a newbie with Access and have been reading the Access
Indide Out from MS and have learned quite a bit. But Where
can I learn how to make an Access DB work with an online
web page such as a search page for product on my site?

I also have a few asp password protected pages but how
can I add an Access DB to these pages so the Password will
    be different for each customer?

Or should I be using another form of database?

    Thanks

    Might start your research here:

You'd need to write your own access method to use a database, but
using the Windows user accounts for access would skip the Access
database and use the same method you're used to.

    You should. :)

    Jeff thanks for the reply
I have perused some of the articles you have placed for me
here, and have become very aware of the Access dilema.

    Thank you
Next where can a guy like me obtain sql for a small scale
web at this time? I kinda need it to free or almost no
cost I have spent so much already. I have Access 2003.

    Thanks again ;)

Then you're looking at MSDE. It's "desktop SQL" with some
limitations, but free to use. Or simply use Access. When the
limitations of Access become more costly than purchasing SQL, switch.

You could also try mySQL as it is also free. You can get it over at
    http://www.mysql.com/ if you are interested.
