Default What am I not doing?

I've just finished redesigning my first website and am trying to publish it. It's taking the place of an existing site. I've changed the root folder and the home page in the site window from the old site to my new one. I put it on the server, but when I go to the URL the old site is still there. What did I do wrong?

You're probably uploading to the wrong folder on your remote server.
When you connect to your remote server, do you see any folders there
called "html" or "www" or "htdocs" or "public_html"? If yes, then you
need to change the "host directory" value in your site definition to
reflect thay folder. For example: html/

Or you are seeing the cached pages of the old site, not the newer pages. you
can force-refresh to check for newer versions of pages on the server (on
IW/win it's ctrl-F5), but in terms of old visitors to the page i'm not sure.
if you envision the page's content changing fairly frequently, youmay want
to add an "expires" meta tag for some reasonable time -- a week or 2
weeks -- depending on the frequency of new pages, to avoid this problem in
    the future.
