What is the best way to import EXCEL graphics into Adobe illustrator 10

Here is the procedure I am currently using:
-copy the EXCEL graphics and paste it into Mac Draw PRO
-save the mac draw pro file as PICT2
-import the file in adobe illustrator.

For some EXCEL graphics it doesn't work and I receive the following message:
"The MPS interpretor cannot interpret the file". What does this message really mean?

I am using:
-Mac OSX on Dual G4
-Adobe illustrator 10
-Mac Draw pro 1.5 v1 (June 1992)
-Microsoft office Mac 10

Have you tried just pasting the Excel graphics directly into AI. It works for me (AI10, OS9.2.2).

If pasting them in doesn't work, you could try print to file from Excel, then open the .ps file in Illustrator. But I'm on system 9, also.

The best way I know is to export the file from Excel as a tab-delimited text file and then import the text file into AI.
