What permissions to use with the use of publishingservice ?
For the Share should it be everyone full control and then for the folder
security set specific domain users with modify ?
The other thing that is weird is that a user with some basic computer
knowledge can simply go to that folder and edit the files with what ever he
wants bypassing the publishing rules... doesn't make any sense.

Re: What permissions to use with the use of publishingservice ?
Hi,
The permissions should be given to the user who makes the connection.
Generally if you are using IIS as the web server it uses the windows accounts
as the FTP username and password. So you can give full access to only the user
who tries to connect using contribute via FTP.
Please get back if you have any questions.
Thanks,

Re: What permissions to use with the use of publishingservice ?
Well we use local lan network... Ie... \server\share but regardless that
user can still use and ftp program to log in and change whatever he wants...
overriding the publishing editor.
Any way to prevent that ?
