What's happened to SHIFT key in Freehand MX? - Macromedia Freehand

Selecting multiple items within freehand used to be easy in FH9. You would simply click on an item with the pointer tool and add to the selection by holding down the shift key and clicking additional items. This is not working in MX. In fact it seems the shift key has been rendered useless in MX. Also the shift key can also be used to constrain proportions when scaling, which avoids accidently stretching the item out of shape when scaling. This feature seems to be missing from MX also. What am I doing wrong? Surely this feature hasn't been discontinued...!!!??? ...

I have had this problem (MX), but it is intermitent, also shift to constrain
angles to 90/45 degress, also spacebar hand/move function not working.

    Take a look:-

Thanks for this and for the link to the discussion about Entourage. I notice
the shift key is now working as it should. Interestingly I was not running
Entourage when I was having the problem and can only assume there is something
else conflicting with MX on my system. Next time I encounter the problem I will
try quitting applications until I can isolate which one is conflicting.

    Cheers, Dave.
