Where did the *usage* feature for images go?
Hi.
Where can I locate the Usage feature that the Quark offers in InDesign?
It came in handy when I needed to find out the file name on the images and double click and open the photoshop or illustrator files to edit.
Thanks!

Now, where on the earth is the help files?
Most of InDesign features are pretty intuitive switching from the Quark, but small stuff I stumble!

Re: Where did the *usage* feature for images go?
The main problem for Quarkers moving over to InDesign is that there are some terminology differences.
Links, in Quark, are the links maintained by the Quark file to external, placed images.
But Links in ID are the threads that link one frame of a story to another.
So looking up Links in the Help files won't work.
My suggestion for people nobuko is to get Moving to InDesign: Use What You Know About QuarkXPress and PageMaker to Get Up to Speed in InDesign Fast! by David Blatner, Christopher Smith, and Steve Werner
This book offers all the translations that help you make the switch.

You sure you have that the right way around? In my experience, Quarkers are always talking of linking when they need to be talking of threading and of usage when they should be thinking of links.

Re: Where did the *usage* feature for images go?
Thanks Sandee.
I do have the book and it has been useful.
However in case of looking up the usage, under the index, the only thing listed was 'usage dialogue' box talking about the fonts. Not images.
That's why I figure i ask here!
Dave,
yeah.. Links.. theading of text...come to mind in the Quark land.
