Where does Adobe now hide Mac Acrobat 7 for buying/downloading??

I searched the site and can find NO place where one can now buy Acrobat 7. All such links now direct you to Acrobat 8. BAD DESIGN! And since Adobe has not yet come out with an Acrobat 8 version for Mac. I'm just stuck, since I upgraded to OS 10.4.8 and my Acrobat 6 does not work with it.

Once a new version comes out, they discontinue the older version. You may be able to pick it up at a local electronics/computer store if they have any left overs.

And since Adobe has not yet come out with an Acrobat 8 version for Mac.




Sure they have. If you're waiting for Acrobat 8 Standard, they won't have one but Pro is available.

Here's one even better, Sharon. If you break a disk in a set such as Creative Suite CS, tough. Adobe will not replace it even if you are a registered owner of the software and are willing to pay for the replacement disk. Due to a poor box design containing the set, we pulled on disk 2 of the set and it snapped. When we phoned Adobe, they said the Creative Suite CS2 was out and they did not replace older disks. They suggested we try eBay??? Imagine if car manufacturers did the same every time a part broke on your car. Now we are without InDesign CS and have yet to secure a replacement disk. Gives a whole new meaning to customer support......

Looks like their mission statement must include Losing Customers. What a shame then that Macromedia sold out Dreamweaver, et.al. to them. Shareholders ought to give them a kick in the pants. However, in such a case I would send a curt letter to their corporate office. At times that actually helps, and note that you're advertising their ineptness and lack of customer public relations on every website you can find.

This is an old outfit and may not even be in business now. Its called Sun Remarketting. They would buy up any copies of old software that were (unopened) and resale at a discount price.

If you lost a disk for Creative Suite CS, you are entitled to
replacements disks for CS even when CS 2 came out. If you still need
the disk call customer support and ask to speak with a supervisor.
This is one of the few advantages to licensing software from Adobe.
Keep going up the chain if necessary. Adobe does replace disks for
older versions.

Looks like Cherokee Datta went to all hardware, but thanks. I still can't believe that Adobe just pulls all references to Acrobat 7, with it being the only Mac version now available. Sigh. I wanted a download version because I live in Peru and importing takes time and money by mail. Oh, well...

The standard version is no longer available. You can try some online
sources (with care) and some older software/computer stores. They
still might have copies available.

Thanks for the supervsor tip. I did get the lower end of the food chain support when I tried to get a replacement disk the first time. Any particular phone# I should try and reach for this? I would be calling from Canada.

None that I know of. But one or two authoratative people who work for
Adobe have stated on theres forums that people should always be able
to get replacement disks. There is a nominal charge for replacement
disks.
