By default it should be in C:\CFusionMX7\wwwroot\cfdocs\getting_started\db.

Still can not understand why <cfquery name="TripResult"
datasource="compasstravel"> can not find the DSN.

I tried ASP instead, with the following coding:

    Set cn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
    cn.Open "DSN=compasstravel"

    Set rs = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")
rs.Open "SELECT * FROM trips", cn

It worked fine, I can show the tripName list.

Did you create a dsn in the datasources section of the CF Administrator? If so did it test successfully?

Received a reply from "mxstu" that I need to upgrade my ColdFusion MX.

The ColdFusion MX update 6.1 has worked very well. Now I can open the
administrator.index.cfm and solved the datasource problem. I can open
    tripsearchresult.cfm now. Thanks.
