Where to Read/What to Google?
Hello all, it's my first post. Nice to meet you etc...!
I have made a Flex app with one text entry and a submit button. I want to
search a text file (or possibly spreadsheet if that's easier) and display
information in an Alert box based on what was entered in the text entry field.
Where can I read about parsing text files etc to help me with this?
Thanks Guys, Mark

Re: Where to Read/What to Google?
Assuming you were using AIR, you would need to load the file (never used AIR)
and then use the String class to parse the data if it was CSV, presumably, or
the XML parsing builtin to Flex if XML. Otherwise, for plain flex in a browser
you would need to load your 'text file' as a webserver request.
