Which Browser Most Renders like IE?
Hi,
I want to build a large Web site and I am using SUSE linux as my operating
system to write the Web site.
Most of the users of my site will be using Internet Explorer 6 to view my
Web site. But I can not use Internet Explorer to test my Web site because
I can't put IE on SUSE. Does anybody know which browser comes closest to IE
in rendering pages? or does anybody know of a good solution to this
besides using Windows?
thanks
Nick

Get the Codeweavers Crossover Office product. It runs IE quite well I'm told.
We use it for Word and Excel and Quicken. Terrific product. Cost about $40 as
I remember. You can't go wrong with it. http://www.codeweavers.com/
Or you can try Win4Lin.... but it requires a Win 98 (not 2000) CD.

Go to your public library and visit your pages. I do this sometimes.

Dual boot would be the best pick IF you *must* check with MS-IE. However,
Firefox would be the browser I would go for -- and it is available for us

MSIE has it's unstandard, so it will be quite difficult to be able to see how
it will look in MSIE without using MSIE.
I do suggest you use the validation tools from w3c, and then check your output
in Mozilla, Opera and Konqueror, then you will have a site that will work
porperly on most of the worlds browsers.

here's a good temp solution as far as rendering goes:
http://www.danvine.com/iecapture/
enter your URL there, and you get a screen-capture PNG of your site in many
flavors of IE.
