Default Why are my flash elements making my director executable run slowly ?

When I import flash into my director timeline it seem to make my published executable very heavy and slow down the computer. Why is this so ?

I am using multiple Flash games inside a Director shell.

Here what I've learned for optimal Flash inside Director. This may or may not apply to you.

I set Director at 15 fps and all my Flash at 15 fps.

In Director dialogue boxes, I set the Flash to "rate = lock-step", "scale = exact fit". Here I see a big difference compared to the other settings.

As the other person said, having multiple Flash .swf in the same Director movie can slow down Flash performance dramatically.

What I'm doing is having only one "non-static" "accepts interface" Flash sprite at a max of 800x300 pixels.

Then I set any other Flash sprites to "static". This shuts off their ability to accept interface and read scripts, however using Lingo with a "static" Flash, I can still set what frame to display or even run animation, as long as all my interface ultimately comes from Director. So I can use the graphic abilities of multiple Flash sprites without the interface/script overhead.

    Does that make any sense?

:-) Just because Macromedia says it's compatible doesn't mean it works well!

I try to keep flash out of Director altogether, unless it is being used on a closed environment where I can control the system configuration (i.e. kiosks)

    >>>I dont understand though why macromedia has this bug in the application.
The root of the problem is that the Flash team and the Director team are working independently, the classic dilemma of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing.

The MX union of the products is not a true union, I'm afraid.

I'm sure you've noticed how needlessly different the two internal programming languages are from each other.

    Don't get me started!
