Why arent my letters crisp?
I am wondering how this was made
http://www.evolutionm.net/img/top_nav_navbar.gif I want my navbar to be an
image like that but when I create it in fireworks the lettering looks so
blurry and not crisp and nice like those letters. Anyone know why that is?
What size font is that and what style? How did they get the shadow behind
it as well, I would like to create something like this in Fireworks MX but I
swear the letters even when made that small with the font tool seriously
look blurry and dont have nice strong edges. Im sure someone knows what I
mean?
Thanks
Chris

Re: Why arent my letters crisp?
Hi Chris,
There are a few factors involved in having your text crisp. Some that come
to mind are: Contrasting color between your text and the background (your
example has a strong drop shadow about two pixels from the text), the
correct anti-aliasing (sometimes none is best), the right font.
One good trick I've found in FW that sometimes help is to copy and paste the
text in place, so you have two instances, one on top of the other - this
will darken and accentuate the contrast.
Aloha,
Jerry

shadow effect can be achieved using the drop shadow option in your
properties menu under "Effects".
