Default Why do I need Contribute?

OK, so it came along in Studio 8 in place of Freehand. Never used Freehand, as
I am an Illustrator boy. But what can I do with Contribute? I mean I am making
the site with Dreamweaver, I can update the site with Dreamweaver.

Now, if you say I can pass along Contribute to my client so they can update
their site in the future, I think that's great, but I also think Macromedia's
coming after me with the EULA police. Previously, I simply told my client to
buy Contribute, or to call me.

So why do i need Contribute?

Default Re: Why do I need Contribute?

A copy of Contribute 3 is required by the developer to administer (username,
passwords, permissions, send Connection Keys etc) Contribute websites.

This functionality is no longer available in DW (it used to be).

If you have Studio MX 2004, you also had to purchase a separate copy of C3
(bundled with FlashPaper 2) if you wanted to administer Contribute websites.
They've taken away the sting of the extra purchase by adding C3/FP2 to the
bundle (and they've withdrawn Freehand from Studio).

Hence owners of Studio 8 will probably only require C3 for admin purposes -
not for content updates - and perhaps training your clients remotely if they
have questions on how to use C3 .
