why do jpegs go to 12?
I know it's kind of an old question, but I really never know whether to stop at 10 or crank it to 12. What's with that? Should I stop at 10? Thanks

Don't know why. 12 is the least destructive, least compression. Only you can judge what setting you can use based on the intent of the image.

Maybe one of those machines that go png 'ping' would help.
