Why does my TIFF look good in Photopshop but not in Indesign?

Default Why does my TIFF look good in Photopshop but not in Indesign?

TIFF created in PS7 @ 600 PPI and placed in Indesign2 brochure project w/o any resizing.

The resolution in PS looks fine on-screen, but not in Indesign.

Is there something special I need to set before I place images into Indesign?

    Thank You.

Thsi is a low-res preview to speed up the display of InDesign, very usefull
if you work with a lot of graphics. With the contextual menu of a picture
you can adjust the display settings of this picture, in the view menu you
should adjust the settings in a global manner.

Is it just me, or should this be in a FAQ for InDesign? The FAQs are running kind of short for both Mac and Windows.

It would not hurt to add this to the FAQ list but...

While this is a true FAQ, it is also common sense in the DTP realm and covered in the manual. Images have always appeared as low-res previews in DTP applications. InDesign now offers the option of high-res previews.

The questions that already appear in the FAQ keep getting asked in the forum so we might as well build up a tolerance for this.

Also, the color management should be setup the same in Photoshop, then in InDesign (and Illy and Acrobat, too) in order to have the color appear the same.
