Default Why forbidden access to files?

After successfully editing and publishing files with Contribute 3 I get "access
forbidden" messages for these files. Why? I did not in any way change any
properties of the files. Can anybody help me, please?

What file system is the server using?

I've been getting these error messages when my ftp account had only read
access for the files (Unix system below a Mac GUI). Did you use different ftp
logins? One to initially publish the file, and then retrying it with another
    account?

I'm having the same trouble. We're using Contribute 3 to create a link from a
page to an Acrobat document. When you click the link you get a "Forbidden"
message. This is a university site and there's no password anywhere in the
    site.
