Why is my file size so small?
Hi all,
My set-up is: Mac OS 10.4.8; Acrobat Professional 7.0.9; Quark 6.52.
I created an ad (11.125" x 10.5") that has a 300 dpi image as the background, then I exported a hi-rez pdf (specs per the magazine's production person). The file size is 47MB. I consider that average for the hi-rez file. My client insisted that I set the security settings in the pdf to require a password to open the file. I did and then saved the file. The file is now 1.3 MB! Huh? Is this normal? Is the file still hi-rez? Is this a different way to reduce file size?
Thanks in advance.
fergy
