Why is Netscape like this????? - Macromedia Dreamweaver

I have created a table set for 100% width and 100% height and with a background of blue and cell padding of 1 pixel. The table has three columns. The first column is 177 pixels, the third column is 177 pixels and the middle column is set to 100% width to stretch to fit between the other two. Into each column I have placed another table. All tables are white. The left column's nested table is set to 177 pixels width and 100% height. The middle column has a nested table that is set to 98% width and 100% height. ...

The right hand column has a nested table that is identical to the left hand, or first column in dimensions.

I know this is confusing but I am really trying here because I REALLY hope someone can offer a suggestion.

When viewed in IE, it is great: you see three white columns, all of which go from the top of the blue table to the bottom. Because of the cell padding, you see a think blue line between the columns.

However, in Netscape, guess what? The left column (it's really a table, of course) goes clear to the bottom of the blue table, but the middle and right-hand columns go only part way down! The tables within these three columns are set identically in height: 100%. Any idea why this is happening? I am ready to lose my mind.

I don't have the page uploaded because there is a web site already in place there and I can't replace it yet. I hope you can picture this and give me a hint as to what I have done wrong. I was meticulous in setting this up.

    Thank you.

Table heights have never been reliable, especially in Netscape.

Thanks. Well, right now everything looks fine, but who knows what will happen the next time I open the page? LOL!
