Why not have a scaled down version of the Reader Extensions Server?
Is there any third party product that will permit the Adobe reader to save an updated form? If, as described on the Adobe description, the Reader Extensions server simply enables additional functionality, it seems like over-kill to purchase the server for $75k.

I would recommend talking to Adobe. They seem to have a wide variety
of business models for this product, and limiting it to a specific
number of forms or users can help - I hear.
There can be no third party product; this is based on Adobe secret
technology - and Adobe would be unlikely to tolerate someone else
taking all their revenue while they continue to "sell" nothing but
Reader.

Re: Why not have a scaled down version of the Reader Extensions Server?
George,
It's definitely worth following Aandi's advice. Whilst we all on this forum have been quoting the $75k price tag for some time I have seen a number of comments recently in the press and on other forums that the starting price is now significantly lower than this although I cannot say how much lower.
I get the strong impression that Adobe will price to fit your specific requirements and, therefore, it is not possible to quote any "standard" price.
Good Luck,
Arthur

Re: Why not have a scaled down version of the Reader Extensions Server?
I still cannot believe that nobody has found a hack for this yet.
Probably because of very few "live" examples in the field that can be studied.

If they drop the price that could change!
