Default Will a 3Com 10/100/1000 pci nic work in OS 5.0.4?

Just like the subject says. The machine currently has an Intel Pro
PCI card that is having trouble with disconnects and the guy says Dell
told him that it was a problem with the driver and he wants the card
    changed.

Will the 3Com card work? Has anyone ever heard of a problem with the
    Intel Pro driver?

Well, let me approach it this way. I've had Pro 100 cards that have worked
well, and I have had Pro 100 cards that have not worked at all. All have
been loaded under SCO 5.0.5. Consequently, I'd think that changes in
architecture (hardware)have not been provided for in the driver, especially
a driver written for 5.04. But, if the card doesn't work, the easiest and
quickest solution is to change it out with a different manufacturers card.
I've had the most success with LINKSYS LNE100TX. Can't say too much about
the 3Com's, the only one I've ever tried was a 905c, and it failed
    miserably.
