Windows 2000 Recovery Console - constant reboot

[Ian Marsh]

Win 2K server mirror failed. Could not break defective mirror and now
system reboots a with blue screen immediately after splash screen at
startup.

Tried to use recovery console but administrator password is rejected -even
though guaranteed proper password.

Any thoughts appreciated.

What I would also try is disconnect one HDD at the time and leave the other
on. Try boot it up.

Sorry for being short on the history specifics, but I already have.

I think what happened is that the dying disk ( the master ) scambled some of
the system data before shutting down. ( I know the system and security logs
were corrupted when the mirror failed). I have run out of time ( need the
system up and running for tomorrow a.m.)
so it's time to replace the disk and start over from scratch.
