Windows 2003 Server hangs for 15 secs
Hi guys
we're faced with a really annoying problem on a about 1 year old windows
2003 server.
since about two months, the server hangs occasionally completely for about
15-20 seconds, then he's back again. that's enough to let some apps crash on
the clients. this happened every couple days but it seems to speed up now
(daily). i can't even ping it in that time (DOS??)
i'm looking for something to protocol cpu-usage, mem-usage etc of all tasks
into a file in order to look at it after the occurence. is there such a tool
available?
also, reserved memory seems to grow over time when the server is running.
it's at 1.6gb now, if i add up the tasks in task manager it's only 600mb.
could there be a memory hole in some server application. how would i figure
out witch one?
any help and hints are welcome
regards
beat
