    Default windows activation

I've just sold my old pc and installed windows again on
    my new one.
It installed ok, but now i keep getting an activation
    prompt everytime i boot up!!
I've tried activating it, but to no avail, as it keeps
saying that my product key has already been activated!!!
This is because it was activated on my old pc.
What happens now, when the activation period runs out?
    Will XP stop working?
    I've never encountered this before.

    Default Re: windows activation

Did you remove Windows XP from your old computer?
If you did not, then you'll need to purchase a new license
(Product Key) for the new installation.

If you did remove Windows XP from your old computer,
then select the option to "activate by telephone" so you
can obtain a new activation code.

There are only two (2) methods to activate Windows XP:

    1) via the internet

    2) via the telephone

I suggest you select the option to "activate by telephone".
