Hi all,

We're actually using the ASP.NET Portal starter kit as one of our intranet
application. The application is set up for Windows Authentiction in the
web.config file; IIS is setup to use Windows Authentication. When users are
logged into the domain at the office, all they do is type in the portal
address and they are not prompted with a logon box...as expected, of course.
However, we have a very small number of users who, when trying to connect
from home, also do not receive any logon prompt; they automatically receive
a 401.2 error. All other users receive a prompt as expected and can log on
normally.

All users are running Windows XP. I have told each of them to create new
accounts on their home machines and to set the User Authentication in IE's
security settings to 'Prompt for user name and password.' Still, they tell
me that they receive no logon prompt...only the 401.2 error.

We've been using the portal for close to 6 months and it works great. As
mentioned before, only a couple of people are having this problem. I've
been trying to figure this one out all week. Any help will be greatly
appreciated.

Thank you,
Jake
