Windows Firewall preventing Contribute from Connecting

I have a client who is using Contribute CS3 on Windows XP to maintain their
website. They were getting an error message when trying to publish, something
to the effect of "contribute cannot find the server, contact your
administrator."

I suspected a firewall issue, so I went into their Windows Firewall Settings
and made sure that Contribute was listed as exception and it was. So I tried
turning the firewall off and after doing so, Contribute let me publish just
fine. As a temporary workaround, I suggested they do this just long enough to
publish, then immediately go back and turn the firewall back on.

Of course, this is not the ideal, nor a long term solution. So how do I fix???

Windows Firewall interferes with most FTP programs. I think the best solution is to get a hardware firewall or a different software firewall. I just turned mine off.
