Default Windows Media Player/warpradio.com problems

I'd like to listen to Internet radio via www.warpradio.com and
www.wlap.com, but these sites require Windows Media Player.

Tried to install WMP on an iBook running OS 9.2.2 but the installer
consistently hangs while checking the hard drive with 95 items
remaining to be installed.

So, I switched to OS X (Jaguar) and tried installing WMP there. The
installation ran just fine, but nothing happened when I clicked the
"play now" link.

Any suggestions?

None.

My own experience with WMV on a Mac is that its a piece of crap. It
tends to start and stop and audio and video can be out of sync.

It is also apparently processor chip dependant as adding RAM to it
produces little of a result.

I also don't like the fact that a web URL can be embedded and while
viewing a clip you may suddenly find your browser launches and looking
at something you didn't want.
