    Default windows messanger

    If i shut windows messanger to stop spam on wwindows XP,
    will this prevent MS updates or automatic virus update
    notification ?

    will come through anyway.
    I tried to find a solution beside installing

    NO, shuting down windows messenger shouldn't stop MS
    updates or disable auto virus update notification.
    At least thats what I know. I have XP and I don't even
    let it run and Norton Antivirus doesn't stop working and
    my windowsupdates work fine. go to [url]www.windowsupdate.com[/url]
    if you want to manually get updates
