Sounds like the screen saver is kicking in and you have it set to password
protect on resume. To change those settings, right click on a blank area
of the desktop and select Properties. This will bring up your display
properties. Go to the Screen Saver tab. There you can set your screen
saver to none while you are watching movies, and you can toggle whether or
not you want the PC to require a password to resume after the screen saver
    has kicked in.

    Hi Dean,

    Check your settings here:

    Control Panel/Power Options

Media Player/Tools/options/player tab, uncheck "allow screensaver during
    playback".
