what happens when you hit f12? Did you use a backup tool to collect info?
Did you install xp over the top of win 98?

    kgit:

Please tell me how you have defined your local, testing and remote sites.
DMX is looking for a server to do your preview. FW doesn't do this, and
that is why you have no trouble with preview in FW.

    > When I hit f12 the browser opens with message "page cannot be
displayed.......cannot find server". No I didn't use a backup tool and yes I
did install xp on top of win 98. Strangely enough in fireworks Mx I am able
    to view in iexplore.

    Hi,
Thanks for your questions. Your questions actually tipped me on how to fix my problem. I edited my site definition and checked No for server technology since I'm not ready yet to post site on server.
I really appreciate your interest in helping me out.
    Thanks again
