Wireless - Windows Networking

I need to get a 803.11b wireless PCMCIA card for my laptop but my laptop has a Type III cardbus. Can I use a Type II PCMCIA card in a Type III slot?...

    I need to get a 803.11b wireless PCMCIA card for my
    laptop but my laptop has a Type III cardbus.

    Can I use a Type II PCMCIA card in a Type III slot?

    the Wireless and the Wired networks are not the same subnet correct? Is
    there any logs in the event viewer or any error messages that may help? How
    is the signal strength with the wireless?

    I wish to network my pc with my wifes notebook wirelessly
    However money is kind of tight so I would like some
    advice on the best equipment to do the job..I have an
    external dsl modem connected to my pc via ethernet
    cable..My wifes notebook also has an ethernet card in
    it..Both computers run xp home..Can I buy a wireless
    router and hook up with a cable to hers for now or can
    you do that with a wireless router??
    I guess I just need more ideas on this...Thanks as always
