without much hope
Hi,
I have used Contribute for a few client sites with reasonable success.
Today I visit a client and try to set up a connection to his site on his PC
& get:
"Contribute could not connect because the server is down or not accepting
connections. Please contact your administrator".
( I have successfully conected from my PC at work)
On the clients PC I try to set up a connection to another of my sites (on
the same shared server) and all is fine.
No problem with his setup!
completely foxed.
any advice? :)

Re: without much hope
Hi,
It is not a like for like replacement.
I have created a simple database and use interakts KTML which is a content
editor. KTML does not have the multi user flexibility that contribute has
but it is very good. I have changed the site I am working on to use it.
The school site already had dynamic (php) generated content but now it is
totaly dynamic.
I like conribute but it is too ideosyncratic and unpredictable with the
*minimum* of support except from volunteers".
I will use it more in future and expect less contact from frustrated clients
using contribute.
happy to detail more if you want :(
regards
