word doc does not convert to pdf in the watched folder

I was able to copy Word docs into a watched folder and have them convert to pdf using Acrobat 5.0. Now that I have loaded Acrobat 6.0, I receive the following error message when moving word docs to the same watched folder (which has been mapped in the new version):

Any suggestions? The distiller is open and PS driver loaded and autotray.exe has been added to the start up folder.

Distiller was never able to convert Word docs to PDF.

Distiller has always only converted PostScript files to PDF.

Distller will only convert prn ps and eps files

It did work on .doc files, because before I received this error message I'd never knew what a postscript file was. Somehow the watched folder was converting the .doc to a .ps and appeared in the "out" folder as a pdf.
What I need is to process 50 - 200 documents by adding them to the watched "in" folder. Is there a best way to save them as a postscript. The .doc files are coming from many different departments for me to post on the web as .pdf.

Thanks to all responses. I'm going back to setting my pdf printer port to the folder where I want the documents, selecting the PDF printer in Word along with the preferences I want, then going back to explorer, highlighting the docs to be converted, right-clicking and selecting print. I haven't needed to do this since a much earlier version of Acrobat, but it still works.

Acrobat has never done this. I think I can say that defnitely.

I'm not saying it didn't happen on your computer. If it did, you must
have had some additional product as well as Acrobat. I suggest trying
to track down what that was and where it came from.

Yes Distiller has never ever been able to convert Word documents dropped in distiller's watched folders. (parallel universes not counting of course)
It might have been possible via a script of some sort, which converted the doc to ps/pdf.
