    Default Workflow is Incredibly SLOW

I'm a first time Contribute user, and I'm managing a small Help development
project, connecting to a site from my Macbook Pro running Leopard and
Contribute CS3. Nice, fast connection to the site... FTP is nice and snappy
from Transmit as well as Dreamweaver. My writer is working on a PC, and posting
draft pages which I must review before publishing. Contribute doesn't seem to
have a UI for allowing me to just approve all his pages at once, however, and
it's just painfully slow to publish each page. Lot's of quality time with the
spinning beach ball here in Contribute CS3 land. What gives? Is this product
ready for prime time on the Mac? Am I missing something about the publishing
model? Is the Windows experience this slow?

OMG, this program is turning my changes into a crawl!!!! I feel like I'm on
dial-up again!! I had to uninstall Contribute just so I could finish the site
in Dreamweaver in a timely manner, and now changes take so long I want to
scream. I will NEVER recommend this program to a client again. Ever.

Don't panic like this... There is a good change that something is wrong with
the ftp-connection. I had several clients with the problem you mention, and it
was not the fault of Contribute in either case. The ISP was able to change
settings and do some cleaning up (to technical for me) and everything was fine
after that and the workflow was OK. So my suggestion: please check with your
ISP before you pull the plug...

Well, if I DON'T have Contribute installed, the FTP connection is nice and
fast. It's not a big leap to conclude it's a Contribute problem. The minute
Contribute is installed, it's like molasses. There's a difference between the
ISP (Internet Service Provider) and the hosting company. Their hosting company
is Verio. I don't know who their ISP is, but in my experience providing hosting
for my clients with a hosting reseller account, the techs at the ISPs know
virtually nothing (and understand even less English, since it seems that
virtually all ISP tech support is located in the Middle East or the
Phillipines), while the techs at the hosting company know a lot more.
