    Default Working in Design View

I was in the process of renaming a file. In doing so, I renamed the file and
saved as to my root directory. Now I can't
get a design view look. It shows the code in the design window. Has any one
    had this problem? How can I get my design back.:disgust;

I am note an expert user of the software; however, I was in the process of
uploading a website to the server.
I couldn't "get" the files note could I "drag and drop" the files over to the
remote location site. As, I was trying
to determine the problem I was also talking to the people who host my site.
    They suggested I rename the
web page because they seemed to be "read only" files. So I rename the page to
    1: index.html. the second page
training.html and testimonial.html. I also copied the old code to the new
named files and to no avail, I still couldn't "drop and drag" the files over.
Thus in looking at all the views now, they are all in code view. I want to get
    a design veiw.:o

There is plenty of confusion here.

Going from Local to Remote is PUT, not GET. If you selected files in the
local site, you will not be able to GET them.
    > They suggested I rename the
    > web page because they seemed to be "read only" files.
Huh? Read only files wouldn't prevent you from PUTting them to the server,
unless those files were read only ON THE SERVER.
    > So I rename the page to
    > 1: index.html. the second page
    > training.html and testimonial.html.
You renamed a page to "1:index.html"? That's going to be trouble - you
should never have colons or any punctuation (other than hyphen or
    underscore) in filenames.
    > I also copied the old code to the new
    > named files and to no avail
Where did you rename them? If you did it locally, then the renamed files
    already contain the code.
    > I still couldn't "drop and drag"
Select files in the local site, and PUT them to the server. Can you do
    that?
    > Thus in looking at all the views now, they are all in code view
Open a file. Is it design view? What is the file's name? What happens
when you click on the Design view icon on DW's toolbar?

I don't know much about this, so be kind if I am wrong. It sounds like berry
is trying to drag and drop from local to remote. Maybe I have just never done
it, but I don't think that is an option. You can drag and drop within a site
to move files and folders, but not from local to remote, right?

No - you can drag and drop from Local to Remote. I often do that.
