writing dvd - Linux Setup, Configuration & Administration

Hi I've tried to write DVD in SuSE 8.2 using K3b. YaST rcognises the DVD (LG) recorder, but K3b does not. I downloaded cdrecord-ProDVD, tried to write a dvd-rw and issued the following commands: marie:/D # mkisofs -R -J -o dvd.raw . marie:/D # cdrecord-ProDVD dev=0,0,0 -dummy -v dvd.raw The output from cdrecord-ProDVD is shown below. It says I have incompatible media, which I know is not correct as I've written dvds with this drive in windows. Any help would be appreciated as I'm tearing my hair out Thanks Allan Cdrecord-ProDVD-Clone 2.01a12 (i586-pc-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2003 Jörg Schilling Unlocked features: ...

    Default writing dvd

    Hi

I've tried to write DVD in SuSE 8.2 using K3b. YaST rcognises the DVD (LG)
recorder, but K3b does not. I downloaded cdrecord-ProDVD, tried to write a
dvd-rw and issued the following commands:

    marie:/D # mkisofs -R -J -o dvd.raw .
    marie:/D # cdrecord-ProDVD dev=0,0,0 -dummy -v dvd.raw

The output from cdrecord-ProDVD is shown below. It says I have incompatible
media, which I know is not correct as I've written dvds with this drive in
    windows.

Any help would be appreciated as I'm tearing my hair out
    Thanks

    Did you read that?

Sounds like something useful you need.

    ....

    Sounds like more than 1G.

Get the key'd version of cdrecord-ProDVD (key is free for
non commercial use) and give it a try. Info is on the
official cdrecord home page. You can google for it.
