X Installation Woes

I'm running a Ti4 500MHz with 768 MB RAM. Everytime that I try to install PE2, I go through both panes. Then it says 0 items are left to install, goes to my hard drive, then my home folder and hangs forever</ b>.

When I force quit the installer, there's the PE2 folder. But there's nothing in the Help folder, the Tutorials folder and no brushes have been installed.

I've turned off the firewall, et al., but to no avail.

Any ideas?

Hi, phranky. Pitch what you've installed and repair permissions. Then copy the installer to the desktop and try running it from there.

Got it to install except for default gradients and such. Plus the Tutorial and Help folders are still empty. Still, we move forward.

Barb, the installer to the desktop helped quite a bit. Thanks for the tip.

All the stuff you're missing is in the sub-installer. If you didn't drag that to the desktop too (or wherever you dragged the installer to), you won't get it installed.
