"X" on mapped network drive after restart XP-PRO
Hello,
I am a computer tech too and I couldn't fix one problem in XP
professional. I have a win2000 server and 8 clients(xppro) connects to
its shared folder. Its a shared folder. That folder is mapped in every
client machine as "z" drive OK? Like regular workgorup. Everytime
client computer restarts, the mapped drive is not mounting. There is
an "X" on network drive. Even "reconnect at logon" checked. When I
double click it, it mounts the drive very quickly. So we don't have
connection problem. I created a batch file with "net use Z:
\\mainserver\data " command, and I put that in to startup folder.
Nope. Not working. when I double click the batch file, its working.
But its not running batch file by itself. MAybe its thinking thats a
virus like activity or something like that.
Maybe I can add some kind of batch file to the program that needs that
network drive. So when user double-click to that program, first the
batch file runs and maps the drive and the program starts. ??
HEEEEEEELPPP !!
