Xcode active build style deployment: debug-symbols still on? - Mac Programming

It seems to be a bug in the display. The generate debug symbols setting can
be set in the build style section of the project inspector. I checked the
actual arguments provided to the compiler and they seem to reflect the settings
in the active build style, hence the bug in the display. I already filled
    a bug report for this.

No, I think it's not just a bug in the display of messages, the -g parameter
is actually fed to gcc, according to the build messages in the lower part
of the "detailed build results" display. The size of the actual binary
    in build/productname.app/Contents/MacOS/productname hardly decreases
    with build style "deployment".

Checking the "deployment post processing" checkbox may be an alternative,
as I hope Apple will tell us on the cocoa development list?
